Why is Searcy walking for water for Northern Ghana?
Two Searcy-based ministries have a long history of work working in Northern Ghana; Ghana West Africa Missions (GWAM) and IHCF/African Christian Hospitals. The first ministry provides water wells and clean water; the second ministry, through the Yendi Church of Christ Clinic, daily treats hundreds of patients suffering from various illnesses, including waterborne illnesses. This clinic, like the communities surrounding it, struggles for clean water. It is not uncommon for women with children to walk several miles to reach the clinic, and, upon their arrival, to find clean water resources to be limited.
GWAM and IHCF are partnering together, with the goal of fixing the water issue at the clinic, plus providing two water wells to the surrounding community. It is our hope that these combined projects will be a witness to the love of Christ in an overwhelmingly Muslim area, and that these acts of service would draw men and women into the Kingdom of God.
Thank you for joining in this effort; your participation could change the lives of many who are suffering, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic!
