At dawn in northern Ghana, children once set out on long, weary walks with heavy jerry cans balanced on their heads. For decades, the weight of water scarcity fell hardest on children. Girls in particular were often pulled out of classrooms to fetch water, walking for hours under the hot sun. Each journey not only stole time from their education but also exposed them to danger on remote roads.
