Encourage Community Confidence
Every person is made in the image of God, so every community has skills and gifts to contribute. Using the skills already present in a community, we encourage community confidence, so they are prepared to take on other challenges in the future, including larger and more complex ones.
Jesus says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Mathew 25:40). Some community members (such as orphans, widows, and those with disabilities) may need additional support. Special attention should be given by the community and our staff to care for those experiencing the greatest vulnerability.
To address those vulnerabilities, through a partnership, Healing Hands International’s (HHI) Walk4Water, and Water for West Africa (WFWA) successfully raised close to $15,000 to drill new water wells in communities across rural Ghana. Through the Moulton WALK4Water event, we were blessed by being able to drill two new wells in Northern Ghana communities.
Pictured to the right, Nasona is in basic Senior secondary school in the community of Kulikpanga. She says,
“We are very populated in the village with over 1400 people. All of us drink from one functioning tap. Often the tap doesn’t flow, and we have to wait two or three days for five gallons of water for our family. The wait and the daytime heat can make life unbearable. We are thankful to God for the kindness of those donated to change my life.”

Meaningful Participation Means Lasting Change
Lasting change has come to the community of Bikpajab as well. Nakpak and her four-year-old daughter Aleena and their community have spent the last few weeks enjoying the many life-altering benefits of having close access to safe drinking well. Nakpak says,
“It is easy to access water these days. We don’t have to take long, dangerous walks to the dirty stream. Close access to water gives me more time to be productive, improving the livelihood of my family,” she said.
With the aid of donors like you and our partners, Water for West Africa is helping communities like Bikpajab and Kulikpanga where mothers and children suffer every day from being forced to take dangerous trips over long distances, only to bring back contaminated water.
Thanks to all those who donated to this cause in the Moulton community. This blessing is helping approximately 700 people have clean water daily and leading to lasting community change.
